Philip Goth : Infinite Melancholy of The Ordinary man

If you need to buy only one LP on bandcamp this year, it should be this one. After 30 years reviewing music, we’ve only had such an encounter with a new and totally unknown artist 2 or 3 times.

Sun Burns Out

Read Benjamin Berton’s excellent interview with Philip Goth (the beloved artist also known as Josh Rawson) at Sun Burns Out. We agree that truth is stranger than fiction. Don’t sleep on the reality of Philip Goth.

The album is out now. Follow on Bandcamp for updates about Philip Goth merch. Thanks so much XOTL

” I saw Serpico at the Salad Bar of this grocery store. He had a big walking staff. His aura was really shining that day.” – Philip Goth in Sun Burns Out

Folk Radio UK reviews Marriage Material

Lorkin O’Reilly Album & Single art – clockwise from upper left: Marriage Material, Baby Steps / Twist (ft. Laura Quirke), Pelé Pelé, Still You.

On this second album, the 27-year-old Scot of Irish heritage really opens up as a lyricist, delivering some of the most powerfully raw emotions in song form I’ve heard in many years.

Album Review: Marriage Material

Lorkin O’Reilly

No different than talking to a stranger at a coffee shop about their life story, Marriage Material is an unexpected collection that is wonderfully simple and intriguing.

New Release: Lorkin O’Reilly – Marriage Material

Lorkin O’Reilly – Marriage Material OUT NOW

It’s an intimate album that feels like a whisper on the skin.

Louder Than War

The second full-length album by Lorkin O’Reilly is out now

Almost three years since the singer-songwriter released his debut album Heaven Depends, Lorkin O’Reilly returns with treasure trove of powerful reflections.

Marriage Material examines themes of deep love, family ties, and broken vows. It was recorded mostly at home in Catskill, New York in 2020, and calls on Lorkin O’Reilly’s extended network of musical brethren for support, with appearances by Kenny Siegel (Old Soul Studios), Matthew Cullen (Ultraam), Sam Smith, Will Bryant, Lee Falco, Felix M-B, and Laura Quirke (Lemoncello). The songs amble with intent through the halls of memory; unafraid to lament, bear teeth, or poke fun as needed; as the artist tries honestly to see the future in consideration of his recent past. After emigrating to America at eighteen and marrying at a young age to later separating from his wife, then finally becoming a citizen; Marriage Material is a story told with quiet hope, recognizing that familial relationships are the building blocks of everything.

We are so proud to present this new album to you. Listen to Marriage Material however you like to do that. Buy or stream it, add it to your playlists, please click those little hearts everywhere you see it and follow Lorkin O’Reilly. Thank you so much XOTL
